Vista Murrieta CA junior Makayla Fick and senior Peyton Candaele took the top two spots in the girls 800 meters in 2:17.42 and 2:17.81, in addition to contributing to victory in the 4x400-meter relay in 4:06.77 to punctuate a 78-58 triumph over Southwestern League rival Great Oak CA. Candaele also finished third in the 1,600 meters in 5:08.03 to help Vista Murrieta prevail against the rival Wolfpack for the first time since 2016.
