Great Oak CA junior Christian Byrtus helped the Wolfpack secure a 68-68 tie with Southwestern League rival Vista Murrieta CA on the strength of a victory in the 300-meter hurdles in 39.92 seconds and a third-place finish in the 110 hurdles in 15.34. Byrtus became the sixth male athlete in program history to run under the 40-second barrier in the 300 hurdles, lowering his previous best from 42.31 to help Great Oak avoid a second straight loss to the Broncos.
